Traveling car rental question, which car rental co. ?/?

which car rental company doesn't charge a lot including miles driven. i am planning on traveling from texas to N. carolina, but i need a rental car there's not much money for a plane. anyone know of a good rental company that won't overcharge or have hidden costs. Or know around how much will i spend in total for using the service?Traveling car rental question, which car rental co. ?/?
You can probably price compare the big ones online. It's not clear to me, are you flying from Texas to NC, and need a car once you get there, or driving a rental car round trip? If it's the latter, you'd be smart to take advantage of unlimited-mileage rates, which are higher per day but end up cheaper on any round trip.

Ways to save: Fill the tank last thing before you return the car. Reserve the smallest or cheapest car they offer, and if they don't have one on hand, they'll rent you a larger car at the same rate you reserved. Get only the insurance you need--it adds up fast. (Check your car insurance policy--got any coverage for driving other vehicles?) Be aware that the hourly rate for a car kept part of a day is not 1/24th of the daily rate but closer to one-fourth or one-fifth.

I'd check Hertz, Avis, Budget, and National online.Traveling car rental question, which car rental co. ?/?
Maryn is correct. Your fees and mileage will be affected if you are doing a one-way rental or if you are doing a one-way trip. You should check mulitiple car rental companies for rates. The easiest way is to go to a booking site, like Travelocity or Orbitz. Make sure to check rate details for unlimited mileage.

Hope this helps.
